When Should I Complain?
Campaign Expenses – Financial Reports and Returns
The Act:
- sets out how, and how much, money can be spent.
- sets out the parameters for reporting campaign-related expenses following the election.
- requires candidates to submit campaign returns within four months after polling day.
Returns are accessible to the public and published on the Elections Canada Web site at www.elections.ca. Individuals wishing to raise a concern with respect to the campaign expenses are encouraged to do so after the return in question has been filed.
