Charges – August 21, 2012

Harvey Venier

  1. On or about March 7, 2009, in the City of Cranbrook, in the Province of British Columbia, being an official agent of a candidate, did wilfully fail to dispose of a surplus of electoral funds in relation to the 39th (2006) general election within 60 days of receiving the notice of estimated surplus, contrary to section 473(1) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(3)(w) of the said Act.
  2. Between June 13, 2006 and June 22, 2006, in the City of Cranbrook, in the Province of British Columbia, being an official agent of a candidate, did fail to ensure all transactions of the candidate in relation to the 39th (2006) general election passed through the campaign bank account, contrary to section 437(3) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(1)(r) of the said Act.
  3. Between December 9, 2008 and December 23, 2008, in the City of Cranbrook, in the Province of British Columbia, being an official agent of a candidate, did fail to ensure all transactions of the candidate in relation to the 39th (2006) general election passed through the campaign bank account, contrary to section 437(3) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(1)(r) of the said Act.
  4. Between January 23, 2009 and February 11, 2009, in the City of Cranbrook, in the Province of British Columbia, being an official agent of a candidate, did submit a false report in the 40th (2008) general election, to wit, the Candidate's Electoral Campaign Return, contrary to section 463(1)(a) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(3)(v) of the said Act.
  5. Between September 6, 2008 and October 15, 2008, in the City of Cranbrook, in the Province of British Columbia, being an official agent of a candidate, did fail to open a separate bank account for the 40th (2008) general election, contrary to section 437(3) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(1)(r) of the said Act.
