Charge no. 1

On or around February 20, 2016, Sonia Fortin did, as the Official Agent for Charles Poulin, candidate for the purposes of the 42nd general election held on October 19, 2015, in Magog, in the judicial district of Saint-François, or elsewhere in the Province of Quebec, contravene subsections 477.59(1) and (7) of the Canada Elections Act, as amended, by knowingly failing to provide the Chief Electoral Officer with the electoral campaign return for Charles Poulin, along with other related documents, within four months after polling day, thereby committing an offence contrary to paragraph 497.4(2)(i) and subsection 500(5) of the Act.

Charge no. 2

Between August 4, 2015 and December 7, 2016, Sonia Fortin did, in Magog, in the judicial district of Saint-François, or elsewhere in the province of Quebec, commit theft of a value of over $5,000, which belonged to the candidate's electoral campaign, to the detriment of the Receiver General, the Conservative Party of Canada or of its association in the electoral district of Brome–Missisquoi, as well as to the detriment of a creditor of the campaign, contrary to the provisions set out in subsection 322(1) of the Criminal Code, thereby committing the indictable offence provided for and punished under paragraph 334(a) of the Code.
