Accused: Hardial Singh Sangha, of Brampton, Ontario.
Facts: Between January 4, 2007 and June 5, 2009 Hardial Singh Sangha, being the official agent of Arnjeet Sangha, a candidate in the 39th federal general election held on January 23, 2006, wilfully failed to dispose of a surplus of electoral funds within 60 days after receiving the notice of estimated surplus.
Offence: Hardial Singh Sangha pled guilty to contravening section 473(1) of the Canada Elections Act and did thereby commit an offence contrary to section 497(3)(w) of the Act.
Sentencing Date: August 4, 2011
Sentence: $500.00 fine

Accused: Hardial Singh Sangha, of Brampton, Ontario.
Facts: Between October 24, 2006 and June 5, 2009 Hardial Singh Sangha, being the official agent of Arnjeet Sangha, a candidate in the 39th federal general election held on January 23, 2006, unlawfully stole $18,767.90 that was sent to him by Elections Canada to reimburse the candidate Arnjeet Sangha for her election and personal expenses and return of nomination deposit that resulted in a surplus which he was required by section 473(2) of the Canada Elections Act to dispose of to Arnjeet Sangha’s registered party or to the registered association of the party in her electoral district.

Subsequent to being charged, and prior to conviction, the $18,767.90 was disposed of by Hardial Singh Sangha in accordance with the Canada Elections Act.
Offence: Hardial Singh Sangha pled guilty to contravening section 334 of the Criminal Code (theft).
Sentencing Date: August 4, 2011
Sentence: $1,000.00 fine
