As the financial agent for Kerrie Johnston, a Liberal Party of Canada contestant in the electoral district of Edmonton West during the 2019 nomination campaign, Randall John Audell was required, by virtue of subsection 476.75(7) of the Act, to file the Nomination Contestant's Campaign Return (Return), and provide the required documents within four months after the selection date. The deadline to submit the Return was September 5, 2019.

Elections Canada has confirmed that the Return was submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer on May 25, 2021, 627 days after the deadline. There are therefore reasonable grounds to believe that Randall John Audell failed to provide the Return within four months after the selection date, as required by subsection 476.75(7).
